Savabeel colt an effortless winner

Progressive Savabeel colt Saveadateforme was untested to make it two wins on the bounce when he coasted to victory over 1600 metres at Goulburn.

The John O’Shea-trained three-year-old had finished fourth on the course in his debut at the beginning of the month before he easily broke his maiden on a heavy surface at Kembla Grange.

Saveadateforme handled the Good 3 track like a toff on Sunday afternoon and the dominant favourite was quickly into stride for rider Chad Schofield to settle in fourth spot one off the fence.

He peeled three wide at the top of the straight and cruised to the front 200 metres from home and surged clear to score untouched by 4 lengths.

Savadateforme was bought out of breeder Waikato Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $220,000 by Albert Bosma’s Go Racing.

He is a son of the late O’Reilly mare Dating, who was a quality act during her racing days and won five races, including two at Group 3 level and finished third the G1 Captain Cook S.

All four of her offspring to race have been successful with Date Night also a multiple black type placegetter.

Dating’s last foal is an unraced two-year-old filly by Ocean Park.
