Tivaci filly back in style

Tivaci

Time away has worked wonders for Bella Tivaci, who made a successful return to competition at Avondale on Wednesday.

The Nicholas Bishara-trained filly had failed to make an impression in previous outings before a spell and obviously thrived during her time in the paddock.

The Waikato Stud-bred and sold daughter of resident stallion Tivaci jumped well over 1200 metres before settling in the trail for rider Niranjan Parmar.

When the leader rolled off the fence on straightening, Bella Tivaci needed little persuasion to hit top gear and dashed home to open her winning account.

She is a daughter of the O’Reilly mare Novelty, who was successful on two occasions, and is from the Waikato Stud family of Group 1 winners Legs, Guyno and Tiptronic.

Bella Tivaci was originally purchased via the Gavelhouse platform for $1000 before she was secured by agent Stuart Hale for $30,000 at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale last year.

Waikato Stud will offer her sister as Lot 380 during the Book 1 session at Karaka in January.
