Tivaci’s son romps home
The Joseph Pride-trained The Replicant is rarely far from the action and he capped off a fine run of recent form with a runaway success at Newcastle on Saturday.
The Waikato Stud-bred son of Tivaci had finished runner-up in his previous two outings and he wasn’t extended to go one better over 1500 metres in the hands of Brad Rawiller.
The four-year-old loped along in third spot on the fence and when a gap along the rail presented itself early in the run home he accelerated sharply and won easing down by 4.2l.
The Replicant, who now has two wins and seven placings from 12 outings, was purchased out of the Matamata farm’s draft at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sale by Pride for $130,000.
He is a half-brother to the Hong Kong winner Go Toby Go and they are out of the unraced O’Reilly mare Oahu, who produced a Savabeel filly last season before visiting Super Seth.
Oahu is a sister to black-type winner Sacred Capital and is a three-quarter-sister of the farm’s multiple Group 1-winning graduate and producer Alamosa.
Sulek and Savvysuper give Seth a Trans-Tasman double
Super Seth’s momentum continues, siring a midweek double across New Zealand and Australia. Savvysuper broke through at Tauranga, while $420,000 Ready to Run Sale graduate Sulek showcased his turn of foot at Sandown, confirming the stallion’s growing influence.
