Legend back to his best

The well-related Savvy Legend bounced back to his best with victory at Kembla Grange this afternoon.
The Les Bridge-trained son of Savabeel won for the fourth time in his career when successful over 1600 metres in the hands of Brock Ryan.
The gelding was given time to get into stride and settled fifth last off the fence before picking up ground 600 metres from home.
Savvy Legend loomed into contention wide out on the track at the top of the straight and produced a sustained finish to land the thick end of the stake.
He was bred by Waikato Stud and sold through the draft of Trelawney Stud at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for A$200,000 to Carmel Size on behalf of Bon Ho’s Legend Racing.
Savvy Legend’s dam is the Listed Oaklands Plate winner Donna Cattiva, a daughter of Captain Rio who is a sister to the G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce S. winner Il Quello Veloce.
Donna Cattiva produced a filly by Super Seth last season before she was served by Noverre.
