Change of environment works wonders
Zion’s rich run of form since joining Nick Ryan’s stable continued at Stawell on Sunday afternoon.
The son of Rubick won for the second time since joining the Flemington trainer’s stable and along with a further four placings he is proving a valuable addition.
Bred by Waikato Stud, the four-year-old was only opposed by three rivals over 1200 metres and he finished determinedly widest on the soft track to triumph in the hands of Dean Yendall.
Zion was initially purchased at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $360,000 with the ticket signed by Suman Hedge Bloodstock and Ciaron Maher Racing.
He is the first foal of the Dylan Thomas mare Kim Dynasty, who was successful three times and is a half-sister to the G1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ S. winner Arlingtonboulevard.
Kim Dynasty has an unraced two-year-old filly by Savabeel, a yearling daughter of Super Seth and is back in foal to Savabeel.
