Heroic performance at Wyong

Hollywood Hero showed the benefit of his first-up run when he finished strongly to win over 1350
metres at Wyong on Saturday afternoon.

The Bjorn Baker-trained three-year-old had been unplaced when resuming at Randwick last month and stripped a sharper colt for the outing to prove far too strong for his rivals over 1350 metres.

Bred by Waikato Stud, Hollywood Hero settled kindly in the trail under apprentice Jett Stanley and was into the clear at the top of the straight before he angled back toward the fence to round off strongly for the second win of his seven-start career.

The son of the late Sacred Falls was offered on behalf of the Matamata nursery by Ohukia Lodge at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready To Run Sale and was knocked down to Baker and Group 1 Bloodstock for $600,000 with the farm retaining an ownership interest.

He is a half-brother to the G1 Flight S. winner Never Been Kissed and they are out of the Savabeel mare Movie, who has an unraced Ocean Park yearling filly named Baywatch and foaled a daughter of Tivaci last season before a return visit to the son of High Chaparral.

Movie, who was successful on three occasions, is a half-sister to the three-time Group 2 winner Ocean Emperor and the family of the multiple Group 1 winners Probabeel and Savvy Coup.
