Ocean Park 3YO makes instant impact
Elemental made a gem of a start to his career on Wednesday afternoon at Avondale where the son of Ocean Park made a winning debut over 1400 metres.
An encouraging trial at Te Rapa earned him strong support at the first time of asking and he didn’t disappoint trainer Tony Pike and rider Michael McNab, overcoming a heavy track in fine style.
Bred by Waikato Stud, John McArdle and Barry McIlwaine, Elemental was purchased for $100,000 out of the nursery’s Matamata draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale by Riversley Park and is raced by farm principal Sam Beatson with Pike and bloodstock agent Guy Mulcaster.
He is the first winner for the High Chaparral mare Kazemi, who was successful three times in Australia up to 2450 metres.
She is a half-sister to the Waikato Stud’s G1 Makfi Challenge S. winner I Do and the nine-time winner Kiss The Bride with the grand winter performer Justaskme, the G2 Tauranga S. winner and Group 1 placegetter, also on the pedigree page.
Kazemi has an unraced juvenile brother to Elemental named Imezaaki, who was a A$200,000 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale buy for trainer Bjorn Baker and Clarke Bloodstock and is in foal to Anders.
