Tivaci’s son strikes on home turf

Dependable five-year-old The Replicant was a worthy winner over 1400 metres on his home course
at Warwick Farm on Monday afternoon.

Trained by Joseph Pride, the son of Tivaci was given a dream run in the trail by rider Jason Collett and, once into the clear, he rounded off strongly.

Bred and sold by Waikato Stud, The Replicant has now won three times from 19 appearances and has a further 10 top three finishes to his credit.

“He’s been a very honest horse and found a way to win again, he’s done a really good job,” Pride said.

The Replicant was purchased by out of the Waikato Stud’s draft at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sale by Pride for $130,000.

He is a half-brother to the Hong Kong winner Go Toby Go and they are out of the unraced O’Reilly mare Oahu.

Her Ocean Park three-year-old Lanikai is considered a promising staying prospect and the mare is in foal to Super Seth after producing a Savabeel filly in 2022.

Oahu is a half-sister to the Malaysian stakes winner Sacred Capital and they are out of a half-sister to O’Reilly’s four-time Group 1 winner and sire Alamosa.
