Regal return from Tivaci mare
Speedy mare Tivaci Princess proved far too slick for her opposition on Sunday afternoon at Tauherenikau where she made her first appearance for seven months.
The daughter of Tivaci had put the writing on the wall when she had won a lead-up trial in the hands of Lisa Allpress, who retained the mount.
The Roydon Bergerson-prepared Tivaci Princess was quickly into stride and, after sprinting well clear before the turn, saw the 1300 metres out strongly to have 2.3l on her closest rival at the post.
She was sold by breeder Waikato Stud for $100,000 at Karaka and the Matamata farm has remained in the ownership group that includes Bergerson’s son Sam, who trains in partnership with Mark Walker.
Tivaci Princess is out of the unraced Savabeel mare Exactly Like You, whose only other foal to race is the three-time winner Image Of You.
Exactly Like You’s dam Glitzy won the Listed Rotorua S. and the family of the G2 Matriarch S. winner Savapinski and Listed Oaks Prelude winner Family Ties.
