Tivaci 3YO gives half-sister timely boost

Rayet opened her career in perfect style at New Plymouth on Thursday afternoon with an impressive performance that also provided a pedigree update for her Karaka-bound half-sibling.

Trained by Ben and Ryan Foote for breeders Waikato Stud, the Tivaci three-year-old came off a trial success at Te Rapa to make a winning debut over 1100 metres.

Rayet was slowly into stride under rider Courtney Barnes before improving quickly to sit outside the leader.

She strode to the front at the top of the straight and stayed on firmly to have a length and a-half on her nearest rivals at the post.

Waikato Stud will offer her half-sister by Super Seth at next month’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale as Lot 376.

They are out of the Savabeel mare Save The Stars, who also has a juvenile Tivaci colt, and she is a sister to the dual Group 1 winner Savvy Coup.

The pedigree page also features the four-time elite level winner Probabeel and Never Been Kissed, who won the G1 Flight Stakes in the Matamata nursery’s colours.
