I Don’t shows true colours
The well-bred I Don’t turned her form around at New Plymouth on Wednesday afternoon to add to her family’s proud record.
The Savabeel mare is a daughter of the G1 Makfi Challenge Stakes winner I Do, whose five foals to race have now all been successful.
I Do is a sister to the Listed Queensland Cup winner Iggi Pop while the second dam Freequent won the G3 New Zealand St Leger and produced the mother of the G2 Tauranga Stakes winner and G1 Livamol Classic runner-up Justaskme.
I Don’t is raced by co-breeders Waikato Stud and trainer Allan Sharrock and was making her fourth race day appearance when she opened her account over 1400 metres.
The four-year-old had finished at the tail of the field when resuming at her previous outing, but had since been freshened and she came with long strides down the outside to pick off her rivals in the hands of Kozzi Asano.
