Cindy grabs share of spoils
Genuine mare Fall For Cindy overcame an interrupted run in the straight to share victory in a competitive Benchmark 88 event over 1400 metres at Hawkesbury on Saturday.
Trained by John O’Shea for breeders Waikato Stud, the daughter of the late Sacred Falls had finished a sound third when resuming at her previous start at Warwick Farm under 58.5kg and went up in class but dropped back to a luxurious 50.5kg with Jett Stanley’s claim.
The four-year-old settled three back on the rail before angling off the fence before the turn.
She was denied a run in the straight before driving between runners close to home to dead-heat for first.
Fall For Cindy now has four wins and five placings from her 14 appearances and is a daughter of the Savabeel mare Cindy Cee, an unraced half-sister to the G2 Cal Isuzu S. winner Sports Illustrated.
Their dam Pin Up is a half-sister to stud graduate and multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Starcraft and the stake winner and three-time elite level placegetter Forum Floozie.
All three of Cindy Cee’s foals to race have been successful and she produced a colt by resident stallion Ardrossan last season.
