Ioane shines again at the Coast
Lightly tried three-year-old Ioane took another step in the right direction at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.
The son of Savabeel won for the second time in a brief career when he downed his older rivals over 1400 metres.
Ioane began his career in Sydney with Annabel Neasham before relocating to Queensland to Stuart Kendrick’s care and struck again on his new home track in the hands of apprentice Cody Collis.
He was slowly into stride and settled back on the rail before improving along the fence and lengthened stride in the run home to win with authority.
Ioane was offered at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale by Sledmere Stud on behalf of breeder Waikato Stud and was knocked down to the TFI Ladies syndicate for A$240,000.
He is the first winner for the Pins mare Got It, who is out of a sister to the late multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Sacred Falls.
Got It has an unraced two-year-old colt by Ocean Park and produced a son of Noverre last season and is back in foal to Ocean Park.
Mr Bombasa gives Banquo another winner
Three-year-old colt Mr Bombasa provided another winner this season for Banquo, who is having a watershed season with a Group 3 winner and performer also turning heads.
