Marsh’s judgement proves spot on

Stephen Marsh was on the money when he tipped Lovaci as his stable’s top winning
prospect at Taupo on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cambridge trainer was strong on her chances in the maiden 1300 metre contest and the daughter of Tivaci didn’t disappoint, leading all the way to score at her fourth appearance.

Waikato Stud graduate Lovaci had finished fourth when resuming at Matamata with an effort that had next-up winner written all over it.

“Her condition just gave out last time in the very testing conditions,” Marsh said.

“Over 1300 from a nice draw, I thought she was out best chance of the day. She was building toward this.”

Lovaci is the first live foal of the Savabeel mare Loveable, a half-sister to the late multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Sacred Falls, and was a $280,000 Karaka purchase for Marsh.

Loveable produced a filly by Super Seth last season and is back in foal to the son of
Dundeel.
