Noverre Colt a Stand-out Youngster
Young Waikato Stud stallion Noverre played a starring role at Karaka on Thursday afternoon.
A small selection of the Group 1-winning son of Savabeel’s first crop went through the ring at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Weanling Sale with the Auckland-based Raptors Thoroughbreds claiming his top-priced son.
Offered by Curraghmore, Lot 125 was secured for $100,000 and is a half-brother to three winners, including the Listed Karaka 2YO Million placegetter Taroni.
Their dam is the Al Akbar mare Alagant Satin, who was successful of four occasions, including victories in the G2 Eight Carat Classic and G3 Eulogy Stakes.
“We were also happy to go up to $100,000 to buy a son of Noverre. That horse was highly recommended by our bloodstock team, so we had no problem with taking that risk on a first-season sire,” Raptor’s Jessica Yang said.
Noverre’s sibling salutes at Pukekohe
The Waikato Stud colours were out in force on Saturday, 8 November, and Magice (ex Magic Dancer) continued a wonderful day for Garry Chittick, who bred and races the son of Savabeel and is the full brother to first-season sire Noverre.
