Savabeel mare relishes extra trip

A step up in distance at Te Rapa this afternoon was all Savacat required to add to her
winning record.
The five-year-old had finished an eye-catching fifth over 1200 metres on the course when
returning from a break earlier this month and the progression to a mile brought out the best
in her.
Trained by Team Rogerson for breeders Waikato Stud, Savacat travelled midfield on the rail
and rounded off strongly closest to the fence in the run home for rider Kelly Myers.
The five-year-old has now won three times from 17 starts and has placed on a further seven
occasions.
Savacat is out of the Listed Oaklands Plate winner Donna Cattiva and is also the dam of
Savabeel’s son Savvy Legend, who is an eight-time winner.
The Captain Rio mare is a sister to the G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Il Quello
Veloce and the upfront family of the elite level-winning half-brothers Terravista and Tiger
Tees.
Donna Cattiva has an unraced two-year-old filly by Super Seth and produced a Savabeel
colt last season and is due to foal again to the champion stallion.
