Sinhaman goes the distance

Tivaci four-year-old Sinhaman (ex Shellac) opened his account over a middle distance when he was successful at Trentham on Saturday.

Prepared by Stephen Marsh, he was strong at the end of 2100 metres heightening the possibility of backing up over the course and distance in next Saturday’s $350,000 Remutaka Classic.

Sinhaman was given a perfect ride by Matt Cartwright and was good enough to capitalise and post his second career victory.

He lobbed along in fifth spot on the fence before angling off the rail before the turn and then rounded off willingly in the run home.

Sinhaman was purchased out of breeder Waikato Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $200,000 by Archer Equine Investments.

He is the first foal of the unraced Savabeel mare Shellac, who is out of a half-sister to the multiple top-flight winer Metal Bender.

It is also the family of the Gr.1 New Zealand Oaks winner Amarelinha and the Australian Group 3 winners North Pacific and Missybeel.
