Savannah Chill hot on debut
The in-form Lindsay Park Racing unveiled an impressive debut winner when Savabeel‘s two-year-old daughter, Savannah Chill (ex Chilled Out), won by half a length at Sandown over 1300m on Wednesday, 2 July.
Jumping from barrier five of the six-horse field, jockey Daniel Stackhouse sat the two-year-old filly one back and one off the fence, asking for effort 500m from home, which the filly responded to. The duo took over 100m from home ahead of the Too Darn Hot filly Too Much Too Soon.
Savannah Chill is the full sister to Listed Rowley Mile (1600m) winner Savacool, trained by Chris Waller. She is the 12th foal of the Anabaa mare Chilled Out, who was covered by Noverre last season, and was sold by Waikato Stud at the 2024 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale for $100,000 to Lindsay Park, bred in partnership with long-time friend and client Gary Wallace.
