Ocean Park’s son crashes the Cup Day Party
          
          
On the first Tuesday of November, racing fans across the globe turn their eyes to Flemington,a nd in the second race of the day, it was the Waikato Stud-bred Party Crasher (ex Party Popper) who joined in the Cup Day celebrations with a controlled win over the 2000m trip.
Trained by young South Australian trainer Michael Hickmott, the son of Ocean Park was having just his seventh start. Ridden by the inform jockey Mark Zahra, the pair jumped from barrier 10 and whisked down the centre to win by a neck.
The four-year-old was sold by Waikato Stud at the 2023 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale Book 1 for $40,000 to K Pertab and C Cole. He is out of the unraced Rock N Pop mare Party Popper, who has a yearling full brother to Party Crasher and is expecting a foal by Ocean Park this season.
