Bishops Castle Reigns Supreme

A WS family with strong Australian performance was again to the fore in Victoria yesterday when Bishops Castle added to his record. The promising O’Reilly three-year-old has two wins and four placings from his 10 appearances with his latest success a dominant one in the hands of Glen Boss at Bendigo.

Bishops Castle is trained at Flemington by Michael Moroney whose brother Paul selected him out of WS’s 2011 Premier Sale draft at Karaka and secured him for $160,000. He is out of the unraced Hooked Ona Feeling and is the Zabeel mare’s first foal to race.

She is a daughter of the dual Gr 2 Edward Manifold and Queen of the Turf Stakes winner Ugachaka, whose sons High On Believing, Barbarino and Lansdowne Road have all won in Australia. The family also features the Gr 2 Ajax Stakes and Gr 3 Newcastle Cup winner High Cee and the Singapore Horse of the Year Bocelli.
