King Of Thunder storms home at Rosehill

Promising three-year-old King Of Thunder (Tivaci x Sheezababe) delivered an impressive second-up victory over 1900m at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 15 March, for trainers John O’Shea and Tom Charlton. His win comes just a week after his stablemate Linebacker (Super Seth) claimed the Gr.1 Randwick Guineas.
Ridden by Zac Lloyd, King Of Thunder made the most of his inside draw, jumping from barrier one and finishing strongly to score by 0.75 lengths.
Out of the Zabeel mare Sheezababe, he is the sixth foal bred by Waikato Stud’s Pippa Chittick.
Already Group 2-placed in the Drummond Golf Vase (2040m), King Of Thunder now sets his sights on the Gr.2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on 29 March. Speaking with Emma Freedman of Channel 7, O’Shea confirmed that if the son of Tivaci performs well in the Tulloch, he could progress to the Gr.1 Australian Derby (2400m) on 5 April.

From promise to proven: Super Seth’s Group 1 strike rate stuns
Super Seth’s rise continues with Maison Louis becoming his fourth Group 1 winner. His standout strike rate and Group 1 tally position him among the most statistically impressive sires of 2025.
