Noverre’s sibling salutes at Pukekohe

The Waikato Stud colours were out in force on Saturday, 8 November, and Magice (ex Magic Dancer) continued a wonderful day for Garry Chittick, who bred and races the son of Savabeel and is the full brother to first-season sire Noverre.

Trained by Kris Shailer, who manages Courtza at Waikato Stud, the four-year-old gelding was having just her fourth start and adding a second win, taking out Race 7 over 1200m by a dominant one length.

Ridden by Ryan Elliot, the pair jumped from barrier nine of the 12-horse field and found an economical run sticking to the fence as the field fanned on the turn, to weave their way through and win by a length.

Magice is the fourth foal from the Group 3-winning mare Magic Dancer, who has a Savabeel yearling filly and foaled a colt by Super Seth this season.
