October strikes again in Singapore
Ocean Park’s son October bounced back to his best in Singapore this evening to double his
winning tally.
The four-year-old was making his first appearance for six weeks and returned in a blaze of
glory over 1400 metres for trainer Jason Ong and rider Bruno Queiroz.
The Waikato Stud graduate broke his maiden earlier this year for New Zealander Stephen
Gray and changed stables when he returned home to further his career.
Sold by Ohukia Lodge at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale for $60,000,
October is the first foal of the well-related O’Reilly mare Oh So Chilled whose half-brother
Savacool won the Listed Rowley Mile and was a multiple Group placegetter.
Their dam is a half-sister to the Listed Red Roses Stakes winner The Big Chill, who was also
Group 1 placed in the Manikato Stakes and Goodwood Handicap.
Another well-performed member of the family is the dual Group 2 winner Coldplay.
Oh So Chilled’s daughter of Super Seth, named Frosty Girl, was sold to Chris Waller Racing
and Mulcaster Bloodstock at Karaka last year for $150,000 and the mare is in foal to
Savabeel after producing a filly in 2023 by the multiple champion stallion.
