Boomtown Rat appreciated a step up in distance at his latest outing to post the third win of his career.

The son of Rock ‘n’ Pop moved up in trip to 1500 metres most recently at Canterbury Park and duly obliged.

The four-year-old is trained Michael Freedman and Ed O’Rourke at Randwick and was ridden by Sam Clipperton.

Boomtown Rat was purchased by Freedman Racing for $110,000 at the 2016 Ready to Run Sale at Karaka.

He is out of Irish Belle, a multiple stakes-winning daughter of O’Reilly.

She is a three-quarter sister to the dual Group One winner Final Destination.
