Savabeel 3YO makes impressive debut
A well-related son of Champion Sire Savabeel made the perfect start to his career at Kilmore on Sunday afternoon.
The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained Interlinked made his debut over 1450 metres in the hands of Thomas Stockdale and the grandson of three-time Group 1 winner Daffodil was an impressive winner.
“Being by Savabeel, he is only going to get better with time and over more ground,” stable representative Brendan Hawtin said.
“It was no surprise to us, he’d done well in a couple of jump-outs and it was a lovely ride by Thomas.”
The OTI-raced Interlinked settled back on the fence and improved quickly 600 metres from home to be in the firing line at the top of the straight before rounding off strongly to score by 1.75l.
Bred by Waikato Stud, Interlinked was offered on behalf of the Matamata farm by Ohukia Lodge at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale and was purchased by Busuttin Racing for $100,000.
He is a son of the Pins mare Daisy Chain, also the dam of multiple winners Five Rings and Lavita Vishvi, whose pedigree also features the elite level winners Atishu and Aegon.

There are under ten left to foal and we’re looking forward to the end of that after kicking off in August.
The breeding shed is starting to get a bit patchy now as we come towards the end of the breeding season down here. That has gone extremely well throughout the whole season and we’re well and truly past the 600 individual mares now, and the stallions have gone extremely well as have the team there.
