Timely Win for Eternity

Improved track conditions were the key to a first success for the lightly-raced Eternity at the Hawke’s Bay meeting. The WS-bred and sold filly had been unplaced for the first time in her brief career when resuming at Awapuni where rider Lisa Allpress said the three-year-old had failed to handle the heavy going.

Back on a firmer surface at Hastings this afternoon, Eternity and Allpress led at the top of the straight and they rallied strongly for the maiden victory.

Trained by Kevin Gray, the daughter of Pins was purchased by his son Stephen out of WS’s 2011 Premier Sale team to Karaka for $145,000.

She is the first foal out of the Centaine mare Beyond, the winner of four of her nine starts for Garry Chittick. Eternity is a three-quarter sister to the Gr.3 Mannerism Stakes winner Tootsie and is also closely related to the Group One performer La Rose Noir.
