WS-bred Out Of The Blue wins by two for Te Akau
Twenty-four hours following the impressive 4.8-length win of De Armas (Ardrossan), winner of the first Australasian two-year-old race of the season, it was Out Of The Blue (Tivaci ex Cornflower Blue) who delivered a two-length performance at Riccarton on Saturday, 17 September.
Racing in the all too familiar tangerine colours of Te Akau, the two-year-old gelding jumped from barrier one and was too good over the 800m under Jasmine Fawcett.
Bred and sold by Waikato Stud at the 2025 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Yearling Sale, it was David Ellis CNZM (BAFNZ) who secured him for $60,000.
Out Of The Blue is the second foal from the Savabeel mare Cornflower Blue, who has an Ardrossan yearling colt and is due to foal to the son of Redoute’s Choice in early October.
