Summerbeel produces hot performance

Savabeel

Summerbeel came in for strong support at Goulburn this afternoon and the 3-year-old had no trouble coping with the weight of expectation.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained daughter of Savabeel was sent out a short-priced favourite and was quickly into stride to make the running for jockey Jean Van Overmeire.

Summerbeel was challenged 600 metres from home, but was back out on her own on straightening and she forged clear to score by an impressive 3.5l in her third race day appearance

Co-bred by Waikato Stud with Dalanna Bloodstock and Tunstall Bloodstock, she was offered at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale by the Matamata nursery and purchased by Waterhouse, Bott and GPI Racing for $310,000.

Summerbeel is out of the Street Cry mare Summer School (IRE), who produced a Savabeel filly in 2020, and she is out of Measured Tempo (GB), a three-quarter sister to breed-shaping stallion Galileo.
