Exciting young Waikato Stud sire Super Seth enjoyed a grand first session at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale at Karaka.

Four youngsters by the Group One-winning son of Dundeel were offered on Wednesday and sold for $865,000 at an average of $216,250.

Presented by Lilywhites Lodge, his top lot (175) was out of the G1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes winner Perfect Fit had wholesale admirers before he was secured by Shailer Racing with Hughes Bloodstock for $525,000.

Waikato Stud sold a pair of homebred Super Seth youngsters through the draft of Ohukia Lodge and the first, Lot 117, will be on his way to Victoria after Lot 117 was knocked down to leading trainer Peter Moody.

The two-year-old is the first foal of the Savabeel mare Magazine, who was successful on three occasions up to 2200 metres.

She is a blood sister to the multiple Group 2 winner and Group 1 performer Forgot You and a three-quarter sister to the G2 Thousand Guineas Prelude winner Acting.

It is the prolific Waikato Stud family of the two-time Group 1-winning siblings Glamour Puss and Vision And Power.

The Super Seth gelding, Lot 135, also hails from a strong female line and was purchased by the Hayes family’s Lindsay Park for $130,000.

A half-sister to the Listed Wellesley Stakes winner Maritimo, he is out of the O’Reilly mare Miracle Miss who was successful five times and ran third in the G3 Taranaki Cup and fourth in the G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas.

The second dam Mandate won the Listed South Island 2YO Stakes and produced the multiple Group 3 winner and G1 Captain Cook Stakes placegetter Dating.
