Seth makes mark at Gold Coast
Waikato Stud’s final offering by Super Seth on the third day of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale ended a successful auction for the farm’s resident stallion.
The Matamata nursery presented a trio of youngsters by their Group 1-winning son of Dundeel and they sold for A$1,055,000 at an average of A$351,666 and a top price on Day One of A$470,000 with Lot 45 going to Anthony Freedman Racing for A$470,000.
Sydney trainer Bjorn Baker was the successful bidder on the Super Seth filly, Lot 565, today with the youngster knocked down for A$225,000.
She is out of the Savabeel mare Date Night, who was a winner and placed in the G2 Eight Carat Classic and the Listed Taranaki Oaks Prelude, and both of her foals to race have been successful.
Date Night, who is in foal to Tivaci, is a daughter of the dual Group 3 winner Dating, who also finished third in the G1 Captain Cook Stakes.
All three dams on the pedigree were black-type winners with Mandate claiming an edition of the Listed South Island 2YO Stakes.
Another SUPER result for Super Seth – that’s three six figure results for our Caulfield Guineas-winning sire @mmsnippets GC 🌟 @BBakerRacing picks up Lot 565, our magnificent filly out of G2-placed Date Night for $225k.
