Further success for Super Seth
Well-related colt Supernima provided Waikato Stud’s Super Seth with his latest first crop
success story on Thursday evening when he made a perfect debut over 1200 metres at Pakenham.
The Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman-trained youngster gave the Group 1-winning son of Dundeel his sixth individual winner from 19 representatives, which includes stakes winners Linebacker and Super Photon.
Supernima was back and wide with cover before improving across the top and he let down strongly in the run home under rider Carleen Hefel.
“We got out to the nice part of the track and he was too good,” she said.
“I hadn’t sat on him before, but he gave me a nice feel and he’ll learn a lot from that, he can only get better.”
Bred by Bob Emery, Supernima was purchased out of Woburn Farm’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale by Moody and Wylie Dalziel Bloodstock for $80,000.
He is a half-brother to the G3 Waikato Cup winner Viktor Vegas and Tomelilla, successful in the G3 Rotorua Stakes, with their dam the unraced Dubai Destination mare Purnima.
She is a daughter of the Listed Anniversary Handicap winner Andrella, a three-quarter sister to the dam of the dual Group 1 winner and sire Castelvecchio and the G1 Spring Champion Stakes winner Maid Of Heaven.
