From track to trail: Savabeel’s Kal El walks Australia

We’ve just received an update from Australia about a truly inspiring journey.

A young woman named Stephanie is riding an off-the-track thoroughbred across the length of the country, all the way from Cooktown in Queensland to Melbourne – a trek that’s over 5,300 kilometers! She’s doing it to raise funds for youth mental health, and along the way, she’s been joined by her boyfriend, Dan, who’s walking alongside her. Talk about dedication!

One of the horses helping Stephanie on her journey is Kal El, a son of Savabeel and was bred by Jim Barlow. Kal El has proven himself to be one tough horse, tackling the rugged Australian terrain with resilience. Whether he’s doing part of the trek or the whole thing, he’s showing the same spirit that made Savabeel a name we all know and respect.

The couple recently stopped off in the Hunter Valley and shared their inspiring story with a few people there.

Their journey is more than just a physical challenge – it’s about raising awareness and funds for youth mental health.

This is the kind of good-news story that reminds us of the bond between horse and human, and showcases the versatility of the thoroughbred.

We wish Stephanie, Dan, and Kal El all the best as they continue their trek across Australia, more on this can be found here https://freedomoffthetrack.com.au/.
