Super win by La Dorada in Karaka Millions 2YO

La Dorada (Super Seth) wins the 2025 Karaka Millions 2YO

It was a stunning victory in the Karaka Millions 2YO for La Dorada, the WS-bred daughter of Super Seth.

Sporting the Te Akau Racing colours, La Dorada was bred and sold by Waikato Stud and purchased at Karaka last year for $190,000 by David Ellis CNZM, delivering Te Akau their eighth triumph in the prestigious juvenile feature.

“Good on David, he’s bought eight individual winners of the race,” said Mark Walker, who trains the filly with Sam Bergerson.

“She paraded so well, looked a picture and Craig (Williams) rode her a treat.

“It’s just fantastic being part of this night and full credit to NZB and everyone involved, Te Akau just loves being part of it.”

La Dorada jumped well to sit in behind the pace and, after hitting the front 250 metres from home, put the race to bed.

She is out of the Savabeel mare Gold Fever, winner of the G2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes winner and placed in the G1 Diamond Stakes. Her half-sister Gold Rocks also triumphed in the Breeders’ Stakes.
