A Super Easter weekend for Seth

It was a winner-a-day streak for Super Seth over the four-day Easter break – a fitting way to celebrate the long weekend!
Kicking things off on Good Friday was the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained Fauci, who broke through for his first win at just his third start at Cranbourne over 1400m. Raced in the familiar colours of Francis and Christine Cook, the three-year-old is out of the O’Reilly mare Tegwin – bred on the same cross as Group 1 winner Feroce.
Fauci was bred by the Hawkins family’s Llanhennock Trust and offered through their Wentwood Grange draft at the 2023 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale, where he was knocked down for $125,000.
From Victoria to Queensland, Saturday it was another three-year-old in Noble Master who won by 2.5 lengths for his trainer and owner Glenda Bell over the 1200m trip at Emerald.
Sunday it was back down to Victoria where the Ben, Will and JD Hayes-trained Madiyya who put on a 3.5-length masterclass at Sale over 1400m at just her second start in the colours of his owner-breeder Trelawney.
And Easter Monday it was John O’Shea and Tom Charlton, teaming up with GoRacing, who look to have unearthed another smart son of Super Seth in Maison Louis, who made it back-to-back wins when saluting at Canterbury Park over 1900m. He was bred and sold by Pencarrow Stud and sold at the 2023 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale for $250,000 to GoRacing.

The Easter weekend haul brings Super Seth’s first-crop record to 33 winners – including two Group 1 winners and three stakes winners – from 62 runners. His Australian earnings now sit at A$3,126,020, placing him fifth on the Australian Second Season Sires’ Premiership.
