Botanical Boy produces a Super debut
A season that continues to go from great to greater, Super Seth added another impressive first-crop debut winner to his record on Thursday, 22 May at Pakenham for trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman.
In a small five-horse field where tactics mattered, it was Botanical Boy – bred by Pencarrow Stud -who proved too sharp over the 1000m, powering down the centre of the track under jockey Ben Allen.
The win marked Super Seth’s 37th individual first-crop winner, an already elite tally that includes two Group 1 winners from just 66 first-crop runners.
Even more remarkable, Super Seth currently boasts the highest Group 1 winners-to-runners strike rate in the world – 4.35% – outranking even top sires Extreme Choice (4.31%), Frankel (3.83%), and Dubawi (3.42%).
With strong backing from an exceptional shareholder group, outside nominations for the Group 1-winning, triple Group 1-producing young sire are strictly limited. Bookings for the 2025 season are by application only.
