Debut glory for half-sister to Icebath by Super Seth
Saturday saw Superfabulistic (ex Fabulist) provide her sire, Super Seth, with his fourth new winner in as many days, becoming his 52nd individual winner from just 93 runners when taking out Race 4 on debut, 6 September.
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, the four-year-old half-sister to Group 1 winner Icebath jumped from barrier eight in the 10-horse field and dashed clear to score by 1.77 lengths, a fabulous debut performance after four trials (two at three and two returning this season).
Superfabulistic is the eighth foal of the Savabeel mare Fabulist, who is set to foal to Ardrossan this spring and was retained to race by Waikato Stud whose colours she races in.
Super Seth is the only New Zealand-based sire ever to record four Group 1 winners from his first two racing seasons. Across Australasia and the decades, only Danehill bettered this achievement with six, while Super Seth’s broodmare sire Redoute’s Choice equalled him with four – a super record indeed.
Super Seth is fully booked this season at a fee of $75,000 plus GST.
