Seth’s son grows Wings with 4.5-length win at Ellerslie
Golden Wings added another notch to Super Seth’s winners’ tally on Tuesday, 4 November, with a strong performance in the second race over 1200m on Ellerslie’s ten-race card. The win marked Seth’s 61st individual winner from 105 runners across three racing crops – an impressive strike rate for the young sire.
Trained by sisters Hanna Orting and Sophia Nolan, the four-year-old gelding was having just his third start and rewarded his trainers and owner S. Waters for their patience.
With George Rooke in the saddle, he jumped smartly from barrier one, controlled the tempo throughout, and drew clear at the 200m to win with authority.
Out of the Elusive Quality mare Xanadu, Golden Wings is the only live foal she has produced and was not offered at public auction.
With four Group 1 winners to date, Super Seth is fullyy booked this season at a fee of $75,000 plus GST.
