Two-start metro star: Super Seth’s Frosty Girl does it again

Frosty Girl in Glenn Ritchie's colours, bred by Waikato Stud and Gary Wallace

After a dominant debut victory at Warwick Farm, Frosty Girl (ex Oh So Chilled) made it two-from-two with a determined performance at Royal Randwick on Wednesday, 25 June.

The three-year-old daughter of Super Seth added a second metropolitan win to her record, again over 1300m, for the team of Chris Waller and James McDonald.

Jumping as the short-priced favourite from the outside gate in a field of eight, Frosty Girl missed the start by a clear two lengths, prompting a quick glance from McDonald. The pair quickly recovered, settling last on the rail before swinging wide at the top of the straight. While the leader I Am Velvet saved ground along the inside, Frosty Girl surged late down the outside to claim victory by half a length in a gritty, eye-catching finish.

Trainer Chris Waller was on course to witness the win and spoke to Sky Thoroughbred Central post-race:
“He is doing a great job, Super Seth, and she’s got a bright future and going to fly the flag for him…”

Raced in the colours of prominent Kiwi owner Glenn Ritchie, Frosty Girl is the product of an all-Kiwi partnership – bred by Waikato Stud in conjunction with Gary Wallace. She is out of the O’Reilly mare Oh So Chilled, a half-sister to Listed winner Savacool, and was purchased by Chris Waller Racing and Mulcaster Bloodstock for $150,000 from Waikato Stud’s 2023 NZB Karaka Book 1 draft.
