Waikato Stud Heads To Inglis Classic

After a successful Inglis Classic yearling sale last year, Waikato Stud will head back across the Tasman in 2026 where we will offer a select draft of six yearlings.

First out of the block for the team is Lot 32, by Redoute’s Choice stallion Ardrossan, the bay filly is the first foal of the winning Savabeel mare Gimmeallyourlovin’, a three-quarter-sister to the Listed winner Synchronize (Savabeel) and a half-sister to Listed winner Wolfwhistle (O’Reilly) from the family of G1 winners Guyno (O’Reilly) and Tiptronic (O’Reilly).

This filly is bred on the same Redoute’s Choice x Savabeel pedigree cross which produced this season’s exciting, Chris Waller-trained G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Autumn Boy.

The only other offering to go through the ring on the first day of the three day sale is Lot 151, a Super Seth filly out of the Pins mare Lottacheex, a three-quarter-sister to the Listed-winning, G3 placed Maritimo (Pins).

Kicking off day two strongly, it’s another Super Seth filly, with Lot 410 being the first foal out of the Savabeel mare Shanghai Tang, a blood-sister to the G3-winning, G2 placed Love Affair (Savabeel). From the extended family which includes Dundeel’s G1-winning son Atyaab, highlighting that there’s no reason that the blood of Super Seth shouldn’t work with the family.

The August 1st foaled filly is bred on the exact same cross as fellow Waikato Stud graduate, NZ Champion 2YO and G1 winner La Dorada.

Bred on the tried and tested Savabeel x O’Reilly cross that has produced 36 stakes winners led by 10 individual G1 winners, Lot 439 is out of the wining O’Reilly mare Smart Thinking, a sister to the dams of G1 winners Provocative (Zabeel) and El Patroness (Shamus Award).

The second of just two colts by Savabeel to be offered in the catalogue, Lot 480 is the second foal out of the dual G3-winning Jimmy Choux mare Supreme Heights, from the extended family of Champion 3YO Miler and four-time G1 winner Sky Heights (Zabeel).

Our final yearling of the sale, and also the final of six lots by Ardrossan in the sale is Lot 698 is a bay filly out of the Savabeel mare Caramel Sundae. From the family of G1 performers Splashing Out (O’Reilly) and Packing Pins (Pins), like Lot 32, she is bred on the same cross as G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Autumn Boy.
