Exciting WS sire strikes again

Super Seth quickly doubled his winning tally when his daughter Diablo Blanco accounted for her two-year-old rivals in dashing style at Riccarton on Saturday afternoon.

Waikato Stud’s Group 1-winning son of Dundeel has made a lightning start to his career with Poetic Champion providing him with his first siring success last month.

The Tony Pike-prepared youngster produced a dazzling debut performance at Hawera with a runaway victory that booked his place in January’s Karaka Million.

Super Seth made it a brace of winners from four race day representatives when Diablo Blanco produced a tidy second-up performance to score over 800 metres for trainer Richard Didham and rider Tina Comignaghi.

The grey kept the leaders within her sights and, when asked the question over the closing 300 metres, she accelerated sharply to power clear.

Diablo Blanco had finished fifth on a heavy track on debut on the course last month and showed her appreciation of a Good 4 surface today.

She was co-bred by part-owners Little River Thoroughbreds and Milan Park’s Tony Rider and boasts a pedigree with close ties to Waikato Stud.

Her dam is the No Excuse Needed mare Phoebe Snow, whose first foal Miss Dixie was twice successful and stakes placed, and she is a sister to the G1 Makfi Challenge S. winner I Do.
