Miriam scores for Seth at Matamata
Super Seth added another winner to his tally on Wednesday at Matamata, with Waikato Stud-bred filly Miriam (ex Kym Dynasty) delivering a strong performance over 1050m for Stephen Autridge and Craig Grylls.
Jumping from barrier seven in an eight-horse field, Miriam broke cleanly, with Grylls electing to push forward and take the lead. Sister Cynane, a daughter of I Am Invincible, pressed hard to challenge, but the Super Seth filly dug deep, surging to the line to claim victory by 0.8 lengths.
Adding to the significance of the win, jockey Craig Grylls was donning a black armband in honour of Dr Bill Ewen. Bill was a great friend of Waikato Stud and a huge part of the farm for a very long time making the win by the WS-bred filly all the more special.
Miriam is the fifth foal from the Dylan Thomas mare Kym Dynasty and adds to Super Seth’s growing winners’ record with the young sire striking at 9.2% stakes winners-to-runners ratio and a 6.2% Group winners-to-runners strike rate.
